My First day of Discovering Israel
It's a wonderful tour I had with my boss. What makes me curious the most is, when he's very eager to take me to Stella Maris Church, w/c he said he's never been there also. He even didn't know where it is, coz obviously its a Catholic Church and my boss is a Jewish Religious. He said I'm curious what is Stella Maris, it's been always a talk of the town in Haifa,so let's discover it. It takes some half hours before we find it, oh we almost in the car when He said, look wait, let's go inside, I didn't expect that coz my boss doesn't want to be there inside, as a respect he removed his KIPPA before coming inside of Stella Maris. Wowww!!! I'm speechless when I saw how beautiful, amazing art inside. It's awesome, the ceiling, the walls, the floors and everything!!!
History

In the 12th century, during the Crusader occupation of the region, groups of religious hermits began to inhabit the caves of this area in imitation of Elijah the Prophet.

Within a century, these monastic hermits were organized into the Carmelite order and the Carmelite order spread throughout Europe.

While the Carmelite order's flourished in Europe throughout the Middle Ages, its founders on Mount Carmel were exiled at the time of the Mamluk conquest in 1291 and did not return until the 18th century. Construction of the present monastery and basilica was begun in 1836.

An earlier monastery complex on this site served as a hospital for Napoleon's soldiers during his unsuccessful siege of Acre (Akko) in 1799. Many abandoned French soldiers who were slaughtered by the Turks after Napoleon had retreated.

The Stella Maris Carmelite Monastery in Haifa, Israel, is a 19th-century monastery located on the slopes of Mount Carmel. The site can be reached by cable car or on foot.

What to See

Situated across the street from the Old Lighthouse, with a magnificent view of the sea, the entire ensemble of buildings, including the Lighthouse, is known as "Stella Maris."

The Stella Maris church is a beautiful structure, with Italian marble so brightly and vividly patterned that visitors sometimes think the walls have been painted.

Colorful paintings on the dome, done by Brother Luigi Poggi (1924-28), depict episodes from the Old Testament, the most dramatic being the scene of Elijah swept up in a chariot of fire. The statue of the Virgin Mary, carved from cedar of Lebanon, is also notable.

The cave situated below the altar, which you can walk down into, is "Elijah's Cave," where the Old Testament prophet is believed to have lived. Many little votive candles burn on the altar above the cave, each representing a Carmelite community in another country (the United States has its candle up on the left).

In the rooms to the right of the entryway, there is a charming nativity scene, a museum with artifacts from the Byzantine church that once stood on this site, and a small souvenir shop.

One of the monks will gladly give you a free pamphlet with information about the history of the site and the Carmelite order dating back to the arrival of the crusaders on this mountain in the late 12th century. They will answer any questions you may have, and guide you to the various interesting details of the church.

The pyramid in front of the church is a memorial to the French soldiers who died here after Napoleon's retreat. It bears the inscription "How are the mighty fallen in battle," from King David's lamentation over Saul and Jonathan.

Korean Insulted a Filipino

It's been twice that Korean insulted Filipino's, 1st was after Ondoy typhoon when they call Filipinos as MONKEY, saying it's good for Monkey to have that Ondoy so they can all die! I'm always gonna be a PROUD FILIPINO anywhere I go!!!! And for this KOREAN ACTRESS who insulted my countrymen, SHAME ON YOU coz for all I know a lot of KOREANS are keep coming to my beloved country PHILIPPINES just to LEARN ENGLISH!!! And We have a lot of Filipino ENGLISH Teachers working in Korea, teaching English to your fellow Koreans. So how was that, think about it huh!?...Whatever accent we have, AT LEAST We know & We understand English much more than KOREANS & even compare to other Asian Countries!! I am very sure of that! Besides Filipinos are very intelligent & Talented! Sabe ko dati, Ayoko sa Masyadong Gwapo dahil maiinsecure ako mas flawless pa Bf ko kesa saken, hahaha! Aminin nyo lahat ng babae may insecurities yan kahit pa ung beauty queens.(buti nalang panget at halimaw daw si Angel? D masyado makatotohanan!haha!).Ayoko sa Masyadong mababa,(sobra naman tangkad neto kesa saken! 6ft + ). Yoko masyado henyo,dumudugo utak ko, eto naman ibinigay saken, lahat yata dapat pag-aralan about sa art at kung anu-ano pa e natapos na.Masipag lang daw sya mag-aral, alam ko po libangan ng lahi nila mag-aral. Career ng clan nila ang mag-aral! Buti nalang masipag ako magbasa at kakampi ko si Uncle Google.com, malamang super late ang Lola nyo sa mga pangyayari sa mundo! hahaha! Yoko sa masyadong mapera baka maliitin pamilya ko na madalas na ugali ng mga Pinoy kapag nakaangat ng konti sa buhay, nakakalimutan san sila nanggaling kundi gaya mong sa putikan din. Pobre lang dw kami pareho, kung pobre sya d ko na alam kung ano pa tawag sa katulad ko at ano ang meaning ng may pera at mayaman. Sabe ni Bunso Bern, sure ka ba Te yan ang buhay na gusto mo, simple? Sabe ko Oo, taong bahay ako, or work d ako mahilig sa party at masyadong sosyalan, d ako sosyal at lalong d pasosyal! Ayun tumawa si Bunso, ok Te sabe mo e,hindi ko lang alam papano yan magiging posible sa inyo ni Kuya, so hahayaan mo lang si Kua sa party pumunta mag-isa hindi ka sasama? Kapag sa bahay nyo party sa kwarto ka lang? Ok, Ok, Bunso I got it, saka ko na iisipin yan malayo pa yan sa katotohanan, at baka lalo ako nerbyusin! Whew!

Ang dame kong Ayaw noon, ang dami kong Takot, Insecurities, nerbyos,sa sobrang dami halos gusto ko na magtago at sabihing ayaw ko na kakatakot ka! hahahaha! Madalas tuloy noon kapag ganyan ang topic namin, nagagalit o napipikon saken kc nga naman ang kulit, e sa nenerbyos ako e ano ba magagawa ko? Sa dami ng pinagdaanan ko sa buhay,normal na reaction ang matakot at maging maingat sa bawat desisyon at pinapasok na buhay. Pero papano ka nga ba makakamove on kung patuloy mong katatakutan ang bukas dahil sa pangyayaring meron ka kahapon? Papano nga ba ako makakaahon sa kahapon kung ayaw ko iwan ang masamang malungkot na nakaraan at harapin ang para sa magandang kinabukasan. Hindi madali pero nararapat gawin. Siguro dapat ipagpasalamat ko na malawak ang pang-unawa ni Angel pagdating sa sensitibong bagay ng buhay ko. Nang sabihin nya ang mga katagang; " Kaya kitang isabay/ipantay sa kanila,at kaya kong bumaba sa pwesto mo kung kinakailangan para mag-abot/magkapantay na tayo kaya hindi mo kailangan matakot sa mundo ko." Dahil kahit kailan hindi naging batayan ang antas ng buhay para maging hadlang. Napangiti ako sabay patak ng luha,madrama siguro, pero sa isang ordinaryong babae na maraming hirap na pinagdaanan mahalaga at nakakatuwang marinig ang mga salitang makakapagpanatag kahit papano sa takot na nararamdaman mo. Nakakatuwang isipin na sa kabila ng kapitasan mo, kakulangan sa ibang bagay at pagkatao marahil, handa ka tanggapin bilang ikaw, bilang buo na tao, nirerespeto at pinapahalagahan. Higit sa anumang ginto o kayamanan sa mundo, ang kasiyahan na mararamdaman mo, lage kong tinatandaan kapag sinasabi nya na tanging ang Pagkatao, Prinsipyo lang natin ang tanging Yaman natin Rainbow na pwede natin ipagmalaki. Na kahit kelan ay hindi kaya tumbasan ng pera o karangyaan kaya dapat iingatan mo lagi.
Maraming bagay akong natutunan kay Angel, sa takbo ng buhay, sa panuntunan sa buhay. Prinsipyo at paniniwala sa iba't ibang bagay, na lagi kong pinagpapasalamat sa Dios. Hindi ko lang sya naging BF, kaibigan ko rin sya, isang Matalik na Kaibigan na pwede ko hingan ng payo, kaibigan na itinatama ako kapag nagkakamali sa paraang mararamdaman mo na nagmamalasakit sayo. At kapagnahuhuli ako sa kalokohan kong alam kong mali ko, hiyang-hiya ako,para akong bata na nahuli ng tatay at parang santa sumagot sa tagalitis! I thank him for that, dahil naitatama nya ang mali kong ugali at kilos. Dati sobra ang takot kong makausap o makaharap ang pamilya nila, or clan. Hindi ko kasi alam kung pareho ba ng ugali nya , o baka iba, o baka magkamali ako maging kahihiyan pa nya ako. Nung minsan nakausap ko sila online,akala ko sya ang kausap ko habang nagtataka bakit may iba sa way ng pakikipag-usap, eventually nalaman ko pamilya pala nya. They politely say, I'm sorry Ms.Contado we're just curious to know you, we didn't mean to offend you. I said of corz it's ok & and ask them to please call me Jha, unfortunately they don't want to, instead asking me back that they can't call me that way & to please allow them to call me Ms. Contado due of respect daw. They're so nice, sweet, respectable. Mr. Kirby making me at ease while talking w/ them coz I've said I'm so nervous. They said, why? You don't have to, we are just the same, we're all simple human like you Ms. Contado so please don't be nervous. I said, I'm gonna try! hahaha! whew! I've told them who really I am, that I have my Noah & I just came from a simple family. They said, who damn cares, you can even have 5 kids and it doesn't make sense, we don't even want to ask that. And as long as you both love each other , stay together our opinions doesn't matter, Bastien loves you so we love you too.We welcome you to the clan, both D & G,(mom side & Dad's side). I said, I'm just being honest & like what they've said, just be yourself. They've warmly welcomed me to their clan. I don't know how I would react that time. I'm happy ,yes so much happy to know & to talked these wonderful persons, a loving family who's very supportive. Nabawasan konti nerbyos ko, pero kabog ng dibdib ko dinig ko pa rin, hahaha. Sabe ng isip ko asan na kaya to si Angel , natutulog daw pala. Madaling araw pa lang naman kasi sa USA that time.

Sa buhay ng tao hindi madali ang mga bagay na hindi mo nakasanayan sa pang-araw-araw na buhay. Pero sa bawat pagkakataon na ibinibigay satin ng Dios, dapat din natin tanggapin kung ano at sino sila. Kalimutan ang nakaraan para makabuo ng magandang bukas. Huwag matakot subukan pero huwag din kakalimutan ang aral ng nakaraan para maging gabay natin. At kung anuman ang kahihinatnan tanggapin natin na sa bawat kwento ng buhay may mga pagsubok na dapat natin tawirin at malampasan, kapag nalampasan na natin lahat magiging maayos at masaya din tayo. Sa tamang panahon, sa tamang lugar, sa tamang TAO at pagkakataon basta patuloy tayo sa buhay na magtitiwala sa DIOS. Dahil sya lang ang nakakaalam ng magiging resulta ng ginagawa natin. Sa buhay ko handa ako tumanggap ng pagkatalo, pagkabigo, ang mahalaga sinubukan ko at ginawa ko ang lahat ng kaya ko kaya wala akong pagsisisihan sa huli. Madapa man akong muli,patuloy akong babangon , magsisikap muli at laging mabubuhay dahil may anak akong si NOAH na lage kong magiging inspirasyon at ang DIOS na lagi kong kakampi! Sa bawat tao na nagiging bahagi ng buhay ko, lage ko sila aalalahanin at ang mga aral na natutunan ko mula sa kanila. Hindi natatapos ang buhay sa isang pagkabigo, basta nga daw humihinga may PAG-ASA.

Minsan kung ano ung mga sinasabi natin na ayaw, parang tukso na un naman lage ang nakakaharap mo. Kung alin yung sinasabi mong panuntunan yun ang madalas na nasusuway mo. Buhay nga naman parang tukso, matira matibay na nga lang daw. Basta lage mo lang iisipin ang gumagawa ng tama ay laging pinagpapala ni God. God bless everyone!

I've got some messages asking kung member ako ng any fraternity/sorority, dahil sa pagsuporta ko sa Triskelions San Antonio Chapter . Hindi ako member ng alinman po sa APO, TAU Gamma Phi, AKRHO. Proud member po ako ng Taga Del Mundo Ako Charity Group, aiming to support , help, be productive to our community. Kung sinusuportahan ko man po ang Triskelions San Antonio Chapter , it's my personal rights, opinion, beliefs na ang bawat tao maaring maging kapaki-pakinabang lalo na ang mga KABATAAN kapag nagabayan ng tama at sinuportahan ng nararapat sa mabuting layunin nila. Hindi natin kelangan maging member ng isang group para suportahan sila kung nakikita nating nasa tama ang kanilang layunin at ginagawa! At kahit anong grupo, fraternity/sorority ay susuportahan ko kung naniniwala ako na maganda, maayos at makakatulong sa bawat isa ang kanilang grupo at ang mga nanunumo sa kanila! Ngunit hindi ko hinihikayat ang sinumang KABATAAN na maging member ng alinman sa mga kapatirang nabanggit, dahil akuman po ay hindi nila kamember, at hindi natin kailangan magpamember para makiisa sa kumunidad. At kung may pagkakamali man sila, katulad natin tao lang din ,lahat nagkakamali, lahat may pagkukulang walang perpekto, hayaan natin sila maggrow, turuan natin ng tama, at gabayan! Papano nila malalaman ang tama at mali, kung tayo na nakakakita ng tama o ng mali ay nagsasawalang kibo, bakit d natin sila suportahan sa maganda nilang sinisimulan. Gaya ng sinasabe ng mga group ng iba't-ibang kapatiran, kapatiran, magkakaibigan, bakit hindi natin subukang tapusin ang alitan? Magtulong-tulong tayong lahat, mapaTAU, Akrho, APO etc, para sa ikakaayos ng bawat isa. Ano ba ang layunin ng kapatiran nyo? Kumpetensya? Pagalingan? Pasikatan? Pataasan ng pride?, then ano nakukuha natin sa kaguluhan, sa pagpapataasan , sa payabangan, meron ba? Bakit hindi natin baguhin ang panget na imahe ng fraternity, na kapag naririnig natin, unang pumapasok sa ating isipan, "KAGULUHAN, BAYOLENTE, HAZING" ....Hindi ba pwedeng lahat tayo maging magkakakaibigan, magtutulungan, magkakasiyahan!?

Huwag natin paikliin ang pang-unawa, hindi natin kailangan ang kompentsya sa mundo, ang inggitan at selosan. Sadyang hindi po ako nagpapamember sa ano mang fraternity/sorority para maiwasan ang negatibong saloobin ng ibang mga kaibigan/kapatiran na malalapit saken. Ariba Triskelions San Antonio Chapter!!!! AT sa iba pang mga fraternity/sorority na patuloy na gumagawa ng magagandang programs, projects "SALUTE" para sa inyong lahat!!!

*Nice romantic-comedy about a Greek-American girl which has to fight against her family's strict traditions in order to marry a non-Greek boy. I think that, for the Greek people, this movie must be full of topics and stereotypes, but for the ones who don't know about Greek ways of life is pretty funny. There are all kind of weird characters (the grandma!!!), and the starring actress makes an outstanding job showing us the metamorphosis of that timid girl to a liberated one. Nice dialogs, nice rhythm... Just a nice entertainment for a Saturday afternoon.

*My Rate 6/10

Note: I love this movie, its romantic, comedy yet at the end of the day they stay together and accept their differences. Highly recommend!

Nung 1st week ko pa lang dito sa Israel from Batyam off ko pauwi ng Netanya,nagpahatid ako sa Taxi sa Tel-Aviv Station, hanap ko Van 4 Netanya. Sim na bigay saken nagblock nman that time.Ask ko isang Pinay sa loob if derechong Netanya Station ung Van sbe ko just a week pa lang ako kaya d ko pa alam. Tiningnan ako, mula ulo gang talampakan,inismiran,tinaasan ng kilay! (taray ni Manang d ba!) Ask ko si Israeling Driver,politely sinagot ako sabe ko, 2 stop light before station ibaba nya ko. Sure daw,kaya wag ako mag-alala at sa likurang upuan nya ko maupo para makita ko kaagad. Ugali nga naman ng Pinoy, nakatungtong lang ng ibang bansa akala mo hindi na nakakaunawa ng tagalog!
Pabalik ako from vacation ng Pinas. Sa Hong Kong Airport marami akong nakasabay na naghihintay ng susunod na flight namin para sa HK- Tel Aviv. May isang Pinay na may edad na 1 st timer nag-aabroad. Nenerbyos syempre dahil marami daw padala ang agent nya, knowing El-Al kc masyadong mahigpit. Kwentuhan dahil matagal pa ang susunod na byahe, buhay-buhay. May isang pasosyal na pabalik din mula sa bakasyon, sabi ni Manang na 1st timer, tinanong kung kamusta ang buhay sa Israel at trabaho. Syempre payabang si pasosyal, ganda daw ng work nya, mapera, sunod sa luho, naninilaw sa ginto parang may hepa lang! ahhaha! Maya-maya pa ayaw na manahimik ng saksakan ng yabang na pasosyal,kesyo graduate sya ng ganitong kurso,at propesyunal daw sya, ng bigla tanungin ni manang na baguhan kung ilang taon na sya sa Israel at ilang balik na.Sagot ni yabang, 2 taon na ako at pabalik na galing bakasyon! Bigla ako tinanong ni pasosyal, ikaw 1st time mo rin ba? Ay naku kung 1st timer ka, dapat ganito ganun ka. Sabe ko Ate 4 na taon pa lang po ako, at kahit kelan hindi naging requirements sa Caregiver ng Israel kung graduate ka ng nursing or graduate ka ng caregiver course. Kahit high school ka lang basta marunong ka magpasensya sa matanda at mag-alaga pupwede ka! Kahit anong kurso pa natapos mo, iisa lang ang trabaho natin pare-pareho taga hugas ng pwet ng Hudyo, at alipin sa ibang bansa. Kaya ikaw manang wag ka po matakot kc patas lang kahit sino pa mga yan, iisa lang trabaho natin sa Israel, huwag mo pansinin yang mga kakabayan natin na nuknukan ng yabang sa katawan! ( si pasosyal nanahimik bigla!) Hanggang tawagin na ang plane na sasakyan namin para sa HK- Tel -Aviv. Sinamahan ko si Manang para sa check in baggage nya na kinakalkal ng 2 Jewish, pobreng si Manang nangangatog sa nerbyos sa dami ng padala ng agent nya, tinuruan ko nalang si manang ng isasagot nya sabay bola-bola sa Israeli na mababaet naman.

Hay buhay OFW nga naman, bakit ba hindi natin iwasan ang sobrang kayabangan. Bakit hindi nalang magtulungan kapag nakita mong may kapwa ka kababayan na nangangailangan ng guidance dahil isang baguhan. Buhay OFW nga naman akala nila masarap sa ibang bansa, akala nila pinupulot lang ang pera. Bawat sentimo dugo at pawis, pangungulila sa pamilyang nawalay ng matagal. Magtitiis sa hirap at pagod,sa pang-aalipusta ng salbaheng mga amo. Sasabayan pa ng kapwa mo Filipinong masasamang ugali rin, na imbes protektahan ang kapwa Pinoy madalas sila pa ang nagtuturo at naglalagay sa kapahamakan ng kababayan natin. Puro inggitan hindi lang sa abroad, kahit sa Pilipinas kapag nakita nilang umaahon ka sa hirap, nagsisikap, sisiraan ka, chichismis ka ng kung anu-anong masasama, hindi nalang matuwa sa pag-unlad ng kapwa at baka sakaling makatulong din sa kanila balang araw. Kaya hindi tayo umuunlad masyado minsan makikitid ang utak, at mahilig sa pansariling pangangailangan.

Minsan lang daw kumatok ang oportunidad sa buhay ng tao , kaya kapag ibinigay sayo ng Dios huwag mo sayangin. Kapag hawak mo na huwag mo basta pakakawalan ng walang kasiguraduhan. Pero wag mo rin sana kakalimutan ang buhay hindi lang laging sentro ay ang P-E-R-A. Ang pera nakakatulong para tayo gumihawa pero ang DIOS at pamilya kahit kelan hindi ka iiwan, at dapat hinding-hindi mo tatalikuran! Sa mga pamilyang naiwanan sa Pilipinas ng mga OFW sana kahit papano maunawaan nyo rin ang hirap ng OFW na hindi madali ang malayo sa inyo. Nasa malayo kami para maibigay ang buhay na maalwan hanggat maari hanggat kakayanin namin. Hindi pinupulot ang dolyar sa ibang bansa, pinaghihirapan namin, at pinagdurusahan namin sa pagsapit ng gabi ang lungkot at pagod sa trabaho at pagkasabik sa mga naiwang pamilya.Kaya sana pahalagahan nyo ang pinapadala nila para sa inyo. Sa may mga asawa sana wag naman kayo mangaliwa habang ang asawa nyo sa ibang bansa naghihirap. Kayo namang mga nasa ibang bansa may mga pamilya kayong naghihintay sa Pilipinas umaasa sa inyong pagbabalik na isang araw mabubuo muli ang pamilya nyo kaya hanggat maari isa-puso nyo na kaya kayo nasa ibang basa para sa magandang kinabukasan ng pamilya nyo, hindi para abandunahin ang naiwanang pamilya nyo. Sana lahat tayo maging matatag sa lahat ng pagsubok, hindi simple ang buhay pero hindi natin kinakailangang gawing mas kumpilikado pa ang sitwasyon.

Isang pagpupugay sa mga OFW na pilit nagsisikap , nagpapakatatag para sa pamilya nila! Sabe nga habang may buhay, may pag-asa. Lagi mong isa isip, isa puso na may Dios na nakikinig sa lahat ng hinaing natin ,lahat ng paghihirap natin idalangin mo sa KANYA. Many people think fresh juices are good in any quantities and surely harmless. However, this is not the case. Same juice can help to one person and damage another one.

You should not overestimate medicinal power of juices. You know, first of all, these are foods. Their medicinal influence is not so marked, like medicines’ one. You cannot cope with a disease due to juice therapy, you just can support your organism.

Be careful

Fresh juices are contra-indicated while some diseases. Thus, if you have peptic ulcer, gastritis or pancreatitis exacerbation, then don’t drink verjuices: lemon, orange, apple, currant, cranberry. They contain many organic compounds, which increase gastric acidity, can cause heartburn and pain attacks.

Grape juice consumption should be restricted for full people and sick with diabetes. It contains too much glucose and calories. It is also undesirable to drink too much grape drinks, if you have irritated bowels syndrome.

Remember, many fresh juices are depletives. So if you suffer from diarrhea, you should dilute them with water beforehand and drink little by little.

To receive wholesome substances and vitamins from fresh juices, you don’t need to drink liters of them at all. Such experiments can only damage your organism. Reasonable norm - is from several table spoons to 3 glasses per day depending on kind of juice.

Squeezer or grater

There’s opinion saying that juice cannot be prepared with help of electric squeezers, as vitamins are destroyed while contact with metal. This is partially true. But in last years they use metals, which interact with juice components to the minimum. If you prepare juice using a granny’s method, with help of grater and gauze, loss of vitamins is still inevitable. You know, this way juice contacts with air for rather long time.

For better assimilation

Fresh fruit and vegetable juices supplement each other in a great way. Fruit juices are richer in sugars and vitamins, vegetable - mineral salts.

It’s better to drink juices 30-40 minutes before meal or during breaks between meals. If you drink juices made from sweet fruits, you should observe this recommendation especially strictly. If you drink sweet juice after lunch, it can increase fermentation in bowels and provoke abdominal distension.

You need to drink fresh juices right after you prepare them. Even short-term keeping in fridge reduces medicinal value of juice, although its taste can remain the same.

Each juice should be used differently

Carrot

Fresh carrot juice is a king of vegetable juices. It contains much beta-carotene, B vitamins, potassium, calcium, cobalt and other mineral substances. All this makes carrot juice especially wholesome for children and people with weak immunity and problem skin.

Beta-carotene is very good for sight. However, you need to eat some fat food right after you drink carrot juice, this way it is assimilated better. Salad, seasoned with vegetable oil is the best variant.

Don’t drink too much carrot juice. Excess of beta-carotene overloads liver, and skin can gain sallow tone. Drink no more than 0,5 liter of carrot juice per day. 0,5 glass is enough for vitamin prophylaxis. Fresh carrot juice is contra-indicated while peptic ulcer and diarrhea acute conditions.

Beet

Beet juice contains much sugar, vitamins С, Р, В1, В2, РР. It also contains much potassium, iron, manganese salts. Beet juice’s wholesome substances stimulate hematosis. High magnesium content contributes to normalization of nervous system activity while stresses, overloads, insomnia. This juice also improves gut motility, that’s why it is a good remedy for constipation prophylaxis.

But fresh beet juice also contains harmful compounds, which are destroyed while contact with air. So before drinking you need to keep it in fridge for 2-3 hours in an open dish. Unfortunately, some people cannot drink beet juice. Sometimes it causes sickness, vomiting, giddiness, heartthrob, general weakness.

You need to get used to concentrated beet juice little by little, starting from one table spoon per day. Before drinking, dilute it with boiled water or dog-rose decoction. You can mix it with carrot, cabbage, apple, plum or pumpkin juices. If you have kidney diseases, peptic ulcer or duodenum disease, beet juice is not recommended for you.

Tomato

Tomato juice stimulates alimentary canal work, reduces risk of cancer. It is very useful for pregnant and breastfeeding women. It is low calorie and that’s why overweight people also can drink it. Fresh juice keeps drastic phytoncides, suppressing fermentation and putrefaction processes in bowels.

Drink tomato juice 20-30 minutes before meal, as it increases stomach and bowels readiness for food digestion. Addition of salt reduces juice’s medicinal qualities. Instead of salt you can add pounded garlic and fresh green: parsley, fennel, cilantro. Tomato juice is contra-indicated while gastritis, peptic ulcer, pancreatitis and cholecystitis acute conditions.

Cabbage
Cabbage juice contains easy-digestible carbohydrates, vitamins С, РР, folacyn and amino acids. It also contains potassium, natrium, calcium, magnesium and iron salts. Cabbage juice contains a special anti-ulcerous vitamin U. So, it is used warm as a remedy against peptic ulcer and duodenum disease acute conditions. It is recommended to use warm fresh cabbage juice for gargling while stomatitis and oulitis.
Besides, cabbage juice impedes conversion of carbohydrates to fats, that’s why it is useful while obesity. You can drink it 30 minutes before meal and during intervals between meals several times a day. Regardless of the fact that cabbage juice has a healing effect on gastric mucosa, it is undesirable to drink it while gastritis and peptic ulcer acute conditions.

Pumpkin

Pumpkin juice contains sucrose, wholesome pectic substances, potassium and magnesium salts, iron, copper and cobalt. It contains also vitamins С, В1, B2, В6, Е, beta-carotene. Pumpkin juice improves alimentary cana work, contributes to biliation. It is recommended for people with cardio-vascular diseases, accompanied with edemata.

Pumpkin juice is especially good while kidney and liver diseases. Drink 0,5 glass of it once a day. While insomnia it is recommended to drink a glass of pumpkin juice with honey before going to bed, while calculus - 1/4 or 1/5 glass of pumpkin juice 3 times a day. Course of treatment is 10 days. There’re almost no contra-indications for pumpkin juice drinking, just idiosyncrasy.

Apple

It contains many vitamins C and P, potassium, calcium, iron salts, copper, manganese, cobalt, zinc, nickel. It is used while atherosclerosis, liver, urinary bladder, kidney diseases, urolithiasis. Pectin from pulpy apple juice normalizes bowels work. High sugar and organic compounds content contributes to quick restoration after physical loads. You can drink apple juice without any damage to your health in rather big quantities - up to 1 liter per day. Fresh apple juice is contra-indicated while gastritis, peptic ulcer and pancreatisis acute conditions.

Grape

Grape juice contains significant quantity of sugar and potassium. It is recommended while nervous exhaustion and collapse. Juice of dark grape contains substances, reducing risk of heart diseases. Its regular drinking reduces level of cholesterol and arterial pressure.

Grape juice has also bactericidal, diuretic, laxative, sudorific and expectorating effects. Drink 0,5 glass of natural grape juice 3 times a day during 3 weeks for medicinal purposes. Before drinking, dilute it with water in proportion 1:1.

Grape juice is not recommended while gastritis with acidity, peptic ulcer and duodenum disease, diabetes, obesity, chronic inflammatory processes in lungs. It is also undesirable to drink grape juice while susceptibility to wind.

Citrus plants

Fresh citrus juices are rich in vitamins C and P, potassium, folacyn. They increase vitality, remove tiredness and strengthen blood vessels. These juices are useful while atherosclerosis, hypertension, for cancer prophylaxis.

However, if you suffer from peptic or duodenal ulcer, chronic gastritis or pancreatitis, then citrus juices are not recommended for you. Besides, you should remember that grape juice can interact with medicines. So it is contra-indicated while taking of many medicines.

Pomegranate

Pomegranate juice is excellently assimilated, excites appetite, regulates stomach activity and increases haemoglobin. It has diuretic, cholagogue, antiphlogistic and antiseptic effects. It is usually recommended to drink it in combination with carrot and beet juices.

Pomegranate juice should be diluted with water. It contains many acids, which irritate gastric mucosa and destroy enamel. Fresh pomegranate juice is contra-indicated while gastritis with high acidity, peptic ulcer and pancreatitis.

Police arrest foreign worker employed illegally by Barak's wife

Case against defense minister's wife reopened last week after Israel Radio correspondent tracked down Virginia.

Israel Police on Sunday evening arrested a Filipina woman suspected of working illegally as a housekeeper for Defense Minister Ehud Barak and his wife, Nili Priel.

Virginia was located in Tel Aviv, in a join raid with the Oz immigration unit.

Police have been searching for Virginia since last year, when it emerged revealed that Priel was employing a migrant worker without a license.

The housekeeper, who did chores twice a week and helped out when the couple held parties, had previously been employed in Israel legally as a caretaker but began cleaning homes when her employment license expired.

Priel admitted last week that she had employed the foreign worker and said she takes full responsibility for the action.

The confession came after the attorney general closed the case for lack of evidence and subsequently reopened it after Israel Radio correspondent Carmela Menashe tracked down the woman by using the telephone number Priel had - which she did not give the investigators.

Priel asked Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein to punish her with a fine and thus end the affair without further legal ramification, but her request was denied. A senior attorney in Weinstein's office, Raz Nizri, old Priel in response that the act was deserving of full investigation and that the payment of a fine would not suffice.

A 23-year-old woman gave birth to a baby boy while riding the Light Rail Transit (LRT) on Saturday morning, a radio report said.

Geraldine Mahinay gave birth inside an LRT coach at the Pedro Gil train station in Manila shortly before 12 noon Saturday, radio dzMM reported.

The report said Mahinay and her brother-in-law, Jesselyn, were on their way to the Jose Favella Memorial Hospital in Manila from their house in Parañaque City when the pregnant woman went into labor.

LIKE THE IBALOI tribe in northern Luzon, the Mangyan people in Mindoro are alarmed and angry over the missing skeletal remains (“but-ol”) of their ancestors in over a hundred sacred burial caves in the southern part of the island.

Only 30 percent of the remains are now left, said Aniw Lubag, president of the Pinagkausahan Hanunuo sa Daga Ginurang (Phadag).

The Phadag has a direct application with the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) for a certificate of ancestral domain title on 32,139.69 hectares of land covering the towns of Roxas, Mansalay and Bulalacao.

The Hanunuo Mangyan, numbering some 26,000 in the towns of Mansalay and Bulalacao, as well as their relatives in Roxas town, are bothered by the loss of their ancestors’ bones, said Lubag, 40.

They suspect that “enterprising” lowlanders hiring unscrupulous natives are behind the theft.

The Kabayan Caves in Kabayan town in Benguet, where the Ibaloi people keep their ancestors’ mummies, had also been desecrated by thieves.

“The complainants have been frequenting our office in Banti (Bulalacao), following up on their search,” Lubag told the Inquirer in an interview when he visited the Kapulungan Para sa Lupaing Ninuno (KPLN) office in the City of Calapan in Oriental Mindoro on July 12.

Phadag officers said they had received reports sometime in October last year about “Japanese bones” being found in Barangay San Antonio in Mansalay town. But some residents believe that those were really Mangyan remains taken from a cave in Palaypay in the same town.

Lubag said his group had asked Romeo Morente, community development officer of the NCIP in Oriental Mindoro, to help investigate the theft in a letter dated March 19.

When representatives from the Church-based Mangyan Mission, Mangyan Heritage Center and the KPLN, a provincewide tribal federation, trekked to a burial cave in Dangkalan, Bulalacao town, near the sea, they found only small bones.

The complainants noticed the disappearance of the skeletal remains when they brought their newly deceased for final burial in the cave.

Tribesmen Dinayo (only one name), who is in his 80s, Badbad (from Tambangan) and Unaw Ganay showed the fact-finding group the emptied cave in Danaw, Sitio Banti, Barangay San Roque.

“They were heartbroken, Dinayo was crying, and we saw outside the cave the dead’s clothes and new G-string placed on stones,” Lubag said. He himself learned that the remains of his relatives were also missing.

Traditionally, the Mangyan dead is dressed nicely when buried. Nine to 12 days from death, food is served in a community ritual called “panhugutan pintal.”

The buried body is dug out nine months to one year later in another ritual called the “pangutkutan.” Food is again served, after which the remains are brought to the cave.

‘Damuong’

Lubag said a Mangyan named Joel Dagud referred the group to Lito Salibio, of San Juan, Bulalacao town, who claimed that the “damuong” (Tagalogs or non-Mangyans) were behind the theft.

Salibio had told Morente and Lubag that he learned from his “sandugo” (Mangyan friend) Ingkoy that several Japanese bones were in the caves when he informed him that he had relatives with Japanese contacts who were looking for Japanese remains.

“The Japanese came with Tagalogs and showed permits to the Mangyans,” Salibio said.

Morente had told Salibio that the recovery of the bones was illegal.

When the NCIP officer went on a leave of absence, the investigation slowed down, Lubag said. The Phadag officers decided to convene the “talaghusay” (council of elders) and invited other Mangyan leaders and set to arrest the violators.

On June 27, they found three Mangyan men—Danum Cusi, Onaw Bado and Panding Ukbong—hauling skeletal remains in sacks of charcoal, and arrested them the next day in Sitio Bait.

The barangay chair, Tano Ingo, led the investigation of the suspects, which was witnessed by Aniw Lubag of Phadag, Para Igong of the NCIP and barangay secretary Edgar Ayun. Tonyo Uybad and Noel Merano, staff members of the Mangyan Mission, helped in the documentation.

Japanese remains

The three said they were resting and chewing betel nut in the Malang-og River when the damuong came and asked them to haul three sacks of Japanese remains from the Kaguray river (between Mansalay and Bulalacao).

The damuong introduced themselves as Ronnie Maligalig of Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro, and Jerry Salibio (son-in-law of Lito Salibio).

The suspects said the non-Mangyans called the items “kalakal” (goods) and that they would be paid P500 per sack across the Cagancan River (Sugdaan ng Malapad), where trading was done.

Maligalig and Jerry Salibio claimed that they had a “permit” to move the items, Lubag said. But he told them that Phadag did not recognize the permit or whoever issued it because the group was not consulted about the transfer.

The Phadag coordinated with Mayor Joel Maliwanag of Mansalay and Dr. Ely Cabrera of the municipal health office for the safekeeping of the “evidence.”

Bad spirits

The Mangyan people believe that the dead inside the caves should not be disturbed because bad spirits were behind some deaths. They claim that native healers called “daniw” are able to talk with the spirits and that their anger shows when farms are destroyed.

“It’s my first time to witness this—worms ate up our palay, corn, Singapore gabi; even the cogon grasses like in Banti are gone. Our animals are dying, like two weeks ago, only in a week’s time—two cows, two carabaos and a goat died in Sitio Balugo, Barangay Budburan (in Mansalay town),” Lubag said.

He warned that eating food from money earned from the sale of skeletal remains was like “eating the dead.”

He said the violators should be penalized, including the imprisonment of the non-Mangyan. “In the customary law, the violators will have to pay all the expenses incurred during the burial of the dead. For example, one dead I know spent four cows and five cavans of rice to feed the community.”

He wished that concerned agencies and officials would help them find justice and help for the tribe.

Rights, obligations and working conditions for Migrant workers in Israel

A migrant worker in Israel is entitled to the same working conditions as an Israeli employee, as well as to private health insurance and proper housing provided by the employer. This section features all you need to know about labor conditions: working hours, salary, taxes, benefits, and more. These are only minimum requirements and you may be offered better terms.

Carrying a passport

Under Israeli Law, every person must carry a personal identification document. If your passport is withheld against your will by your employer or by an employment agency, contact the Immigration Administration at 03-9189444.

Working hours and vacation

Full-time work is defined as follows:
In the construction industry - 211 monthly hours;
In other trades – 186 monthly hours.

You are entitled to a weekly rest period of at least 36 hours - on Friday, Saturday and/or Sunday, depending on your religion.

You are entitled to 14-21 calendar days of paid vacation each year, depending on the number of years you have been with the same employer. Vacation is given either at the end of the year in the course of the following year.

You are also entitled to 9 paid religious holidays a year according to your religion or the Jewish calendar, at your choice.

You are entitled to 150 percent pay and an optional vacation day if you worked during a holiday. Caregivers are entitled to payment for working during holidays from day one at their job.

Salary

Monthly minimum wage: NIS 3710.18;
Hourly minimum wage: NIS 19.95;
Payday: no later than the 9th of the following month.

Migrant Workers employed in the construction industry are entitled to a minimum wage of 211 hours (NIS 4209.45).

Overtime pay
You are entitled to after 9 hours (in a 5-day workweek) or after 8 hours (in a 6-day workweek). For the first two hours of overtime each day, payment is 125% of the regular hourly wage; for each additional hour, the rate is 150% of the regular hourly wage

Example: if you work 6 days a week and you are paid NIS 19.95 per hour, you are entitled to NIS 24.94 for the 9th and 10th work hours of each day; and to NIS 29.93 from the 11th hour onwards).

It is recommended that you keep a record of your working hours for future dealings with your employer.

Live-in caregivers
Live-in caregivers are not entitled to overtime pay; however, their minimum wage is 30% over and above the regular minimum wage (NIS 4823 monthly). A caregiver is also entitled to a weekly rest day (36 hours), paid vacation days, and paid holidays.

Travel allowance
If you need transportation in order to get to your workplace, you are entitled to travel allowance in addition to your salary. The allowance cannot exceed NIS 21.14 per day or the cost a prepaid monthly bus ticket.

Recuperation pay
Once you have completed a year of work for the same employer, you are entitled to recuperation pay (in Hebrew: demey havra’a) from your employer, at the daily rate of NIS 318 multiplied by 5-7 days (depending on the length of the employment period). Recuperation pay is paid once a year between June and September.

Grant for construction workers
If you work in construction for an employment agency (Licensed Manpower Company), your employer should deposit a monthly sum of NIS 700 for you in a special account. You will receive the money (minus 15% income tax) when you leave Israel permanently, on condition that this is before your visa expires.

Deductions from salary

Your employer may deduct from your salary only the following sums:

Income tax is deducted from your salary by the employer and transferred to the tax authorities. The employer may not deduct from your salary any fees imposed on him for your employment.

National Insurance (Bituach Leumi) fees are deducted from your salary and cover the following:
Work-related injuries
Sick pay and maternity allowance
Unpaid wages or severance pay in case your employer goes bankrupt (see below)

The rate of national insurance deduction is 0.04% for the first NIS 4,430 of your salary, and 0.87% of every shekel above NIS 4,430.

Additional deductions include housing expenses and health insurance costs. Your employer may also deduct from your salary sums that you owe them (such as loans and recruitment fees), but only if you agree to it in writing.

Note: your employer is required to pay the authorities various fees for the right to employ migrant workers. The employer cannot deduct any such fee from your salary.

The overall deduction cannot exceed 25% of your salary.

Written contract and wage slip

Your employer must provide you with a written copy of your employment contract in a language that you understand. The contract should include the following details:
Your name and name of the employer
Job description
Beginning and length of employment period
Salary, payment dates, and deductions
Working hours and rest days
Paid vacations, holidays, and sick days
Details of health insurance and housing

Your employer must also provide you, each month, with a detailed wage slip featuring all payments and deductions from your wages.

Ending employment and changing employers

Prior notice
You are entitled to leave your work at any time and look for another job, provided that you give your employer, as follows:
In the first six months of employment – one day for each month worked;
From the seventh month until the end of the eleventh month of employment – 6 days plus extra 2.5 days for each additional month of work;
After one year of employment - one month.

If your employer wishes to dismiss you, he or she must give you a similar prior notice.

Severance pay
If you are dismissed after working for one employer for a period of one year or more, you are entitled to severance pay (in Hebrew: pitzuyei puturim), at the rate of one month’s wage for each year of employment. You are also entitled to severance pay if your employment was stopped due to the employer’s death or bankruptcy. Detailed information on severance pay is available on the website of the National Insurance Institute.

Finding another employer
Upon leaving your work, you must report it to the Population Registry in the Ministry of Interior (Tel: 02-6294726, Fax: 02-6294767), which will usually give you a temporary visa for up to a month in order to find a new employer in your trade.

When you find a new employer with a valid employment permit, you should request the Ministry of the Interior to record the new employer’s name in your passport before beginning work.

Construction workers
If you work in construction an employment agency (Licensed Manpower Company), you can change employers regularly every 3 months: on January 1st, April 1st, July 1st and October 1st.

If your employer has dismissed you or violated your rights, please call the Ombudsman for Foreign Workers’ Rights at: 050-6240546 or 03-5125460. The Ombudsman will investigate your complaint and if justified will allow you to find a new employer.

Your employer should deposit a monthly sum of NIS 700 for you in a special account. You will receive the money (minus 15% income tax) when you leave Israel permanently, on condition that this is before your visa expires.

Caregivers
Caregivers can work in Israel for a maximum of 63 months. However, your visa may be extended over this period if you worked with the same employer for at least one year and your employer is dependent on your care. In such case, you can continue working for the same employer, but you will not be allowed to change employers.

Instructions for employees in the field of caregiving

According to new government instruction - employers of workers in the field of caregiving are to register their worker in one of the privet offices authorized to do so.

The worker and the employer should contact one of these offices and sign a request form registering the worker as a caregiving employee in Israel.

Following the registration, the worker and the employer will be given a registration conferment written in Hebrew and a language the worker understands. This service is free of pay. The Office is allowed to charge up to 70 Shekel a month for other services such as home calls, insurance assistance etc. The office is allowed to charge up to 2000 Shekel for placement services.

A caregiving worker who won't be registered by 30.4.09 will not be allowed to work in Israel. An employer who won't be registered by the same date will not be allowed to employ a worker.

As of 14.1.09 prolonging the visa of a caregiving worker will be allowed only after the worker and his employer are registered in one of the authorized offices.

Amendment to the Nationality Law 8.
Entry into Israel Law, 1952 -
(1) Section 2 (c), after "under section 1M Foreign Workers Law," with "visa license issued to the Minister of Interior in the field of foreign worker's occupation,";
(2) paragraph 3A, after subsection (1C) inserted: "(c 2) Minister of Interior, in consultation with the Minister of Welfare and Social Services, may prescribe rules, for a foreign worker in his field as determined visa residence license is a branch of nursing, the number of employers that may switch between them;

Rules under this subsection shall be determined having regard to the circumstances under which the foreign worker finished his employment in each of his employers and to prevent abuse of the permit license issued to him.
(C 3) Minister of Interior, in consultation with the Minister of Welfare and Social Services, may prescribe, visa residence license of a foreign worker, geographical area only where he will be allowed to engage in the occupation permanent visa license issued to him (in this - Activity); determination under paragraph This will be done having regard to the mobility of foreign workers in different occupation. ";
(3) After section 6 shall be inserted: "Restrictions on issuance of a visa permit 6A. (A) Minister of Interior did not give a visa permit under section 2 (a) (1) to (4) the applicant a visa permit (in this section - the applicant), entering Israel illegally or improperly spent a period exceeding 30 days (in this section - illegal resident.)
(B) Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (a), the Minister of Interior to issue a visa permit under section 2 (a) (1) to (4) where the applicant is staying illegally, if one of the following, as applicable:
(1) about asking who was in Israel illegally for a period not exceeding three months - a year at least the day the applicant left Israel after his stay said;
(2) for asking who was in Israel illegally for a period exceeding three months but not more than a year - at least three years have passed from the day the applicant has left Israel after his stay said;
(3) about asking who was in Israel illegally for a period exceeding one year but not more than three years - long time has passed at least three times from the time he was staying in Israel illegally from the day the applicant has left Israel after his stay said;
(4) about asking who was in Israel illegally for a period exceeding three years - at least ten years have passed from the day the applicant has left Israel after his stay said;
(5) for asking that a foreign worker, as defined in Section D 1 Law on foreign workers, granted him a visa permit such employee - Interior Minister is satisfied that there is to regulate the
Stay in Israel of its kind in his field workers of the applicant, provided that if a foreign worker who satisfies the provisions of section 3 (b) or (C 1) before four years have passed since he was first granted the visa and license;
(6) Interior Minister is satisfied that any entry or length of stay of the applicant's unlawful basis in error, malfunction in good faith or that he could not stay for the entire period unlawful to apply under section 2 (a) the Minister is convinced that stated only for part of the stay illegally, the provisions of paragraphs (1) to (4), as applicable, the balance of the period;
(7) Interior Minister is satisfied that the applicant identifies with Israel and its goals and that he or an immediate family member of his act to advance the security, economy or society; in this paragraph, "immediate family member - parent or sibling.
(C) Minister of the Interior may prescribe types of applicants, they are illegal residents, whose exit from Israel-based concern are real damage to the lives or bodies, or lives depend on them or the bodies of
Dependents, their will be determined by the Special humanitarian reasons, to give a visa permit under section 2 (a) (1) to (3), even if they are not the conditions stated in subsection (b) this matter, submitting a request for Israeli citizenship under section 7 of the Citizenship Law,
- 1952, not in itself constitute grounds for issuance of a visa permit.
(D) who denied his request for a visa permit under section 2 (a) (3) or (4), would not be considered a new application for a visa to his residence permit, within a period of two years, unless significant change in the circumstances the application was refused on this basis .
(E) The provisions of this section shall also apply to granting a visa permit under subsection (a), who submitted a request for Israeli citizenship under section 7 of the Citizenship Law, 1952. ";
(4) Section 11, after subsection (a):
"(1A) The Minister of the Interior found that the foreign worker, as defined in Section D 1 Foreign Workers Law, granted him a visa to visit residency permit under this law, not employed in the occupation specified in his license under section 2 (c), for a period exceeding 90 days, found that without special reasons which made it impossible for the foreign worker to find work in practice during this period, the Interior Minister will cancel the permit and license issued to foreign workers. "
Entry into Israel Law - Restriction of Application 9. Provisions of Section 6 (a) Entry into Israel Law, 1952 (hereafter - the Nationality Law), Achnuashan section 8 (3) of this law will not apply to anyone that he is unlawfully within the meaning of that section, held one of the following :
(1) He was from Israel, voluntarily, within 90 days of commencement of this Law (hereinafter - the effective date);
(2) is applied for before the effective date for Israeli citizenship under section 7 of the Nationality Law 1952 or to obtain a visa permit under section 2 (a) (4) Entry into Israel Law as a spouse of a visa permit, the day began Not yet given a decision in his application, or submitted by one of these requests within 90 days from the beginning;
(3) is applied to apply the arrangement for an hour by Government Decision No. 2183 dated as Bab Ahats"a (1 August 2010) (hereafter - the arrangement per hour), within the period prescribed in the decision to submit such a request, and his request for a visa and license seating arrangement in an hour was not rejected.
Amendment of Employment Services 10. Employment Service Law, 1959 (in this chapter - the Employment Service Law) -

(2) of section 63 A, after subsection (a):
"(1A) (1) The Minister may not grant a license to the applicant to engage in a private office if one of the following:
(A) The applicant for the license, a senior business or an interest in one of them, who was a minister active interest in him the authority, the minimum period has not yet passed;
(B) The applicant for the license, a senior business or an interest in one of them, was a senior minister who turned him authority, the minimum period has not yet passed;
(C) The applicant for the license, a senior business or an interest in one of them, was an interested party interested party who activated him authority to the Minister, the minimum period has not yet passed;
(D) The applicant for the license, a senior business or an interest in one of them, was one of the following:
(1) an interested party in a senior minister who turned on him the authority, the minimum period has not yet passed;

"Duty of loyalty and fairness 66 c. Private office must work faithfully and fairly, and best -
(1) work and offering job applicant any information that her interest in mediation work between them;
(2) job applicant, employee and offering job information regarding the actions by private Bureau permit issued under section 65 (a) (1) relating to each. ";
(4) In section 80 -
(A) in subsection (b), the "fine under section" with "double the fine under section" instead of "six months or a fine as" the words "three years or double the fine as";
(B) in subsection (c), the words "six months" with "three years" instead of "fine as" with "double the fine as stated."
Employment Service Act - first 11. Commencement of Section 80 of the Employment Service Law, as formulated in Article 10 (4) of this law, 30 days after the commencement of this Law.

The top diet mistakes women make:

1. Mistake: Eating too many processed or "diet" foods. I avoid artificial sweeteners, trans fats, MSG, refined grains and nitrates in processed meats at all costs. These types of foods have chemicals in them that mess up your biochemistry, making you sick and fat. As a general rule of thumb eat real food that had a mother or came from the ground and skip all the processed garbage!

2. Mistake: Not counting calories. You have to count calories. So stop asking. It makes things so simple! Learn how many calories are in the foods you are eating (you can look up lots of common foods when you log meals in your Body by Glamour Food Journal. The BBG program even gives you a handy calorie range to hit for weight loss: 1,200 to 1,800 a day).
If you eat more whole foods and keep an eye on calories, the weight WILL come off. No excuses. Make it happen.

The companies claim their mouthwashes are effective in preventing gum disease, but no such benefit has been demonstrated, the FDA says..."

Adding more fuel to the controversy, many health experts are suggesting that some of the mainstream mouthwashes on the market may even be bad for your health. While the harsh tingle of a strong, alcohol-based mouthwash may appear to be good for your mouth, some experts warn that it may not only be bad for your gums, but it may also increase your risk for some cancers.

How does James Franco make time for his girlfriend? He’s a movie star, artist, short story writer, and a grad student currently earning about 50 academic degrees. Gawd. New York City is full of overachievers, and Franco is the poster child.
I thought that when I left NYC, I had said goodbye to all the competitive, Type A, Ivy League Wall Streeters and their ilk. But this past weekend I went out with what turned out to be a scary-busy overachiever.

He was a tall, fit, Ivy League doctor who looked good on paper. He didn't appear to be Type A. However, after we made a date, I began to have other concerns. At second glance, his online profile showed ZERO sense of humor. And, paired with two professional portraits—and no other photos—I started worrying he was a real-life Patrick Bateman from American Psycho. I imagined him sending me home, chopped up in bits. He wanted to pick me up at my house in his Porsche, but I didn’t want him to know where I live.

At a trendy Peruvian restaurant, I learned that he had just opened his own practice. He had also patented some hospital device and was self-publishing a novel. He was a total James Franco, except he took himself too seriously. He told me his ex-wife had called him an egomaniac! Who shares that?

He was one cheesy and intense individual. At one point, he actually said, “How would you describe the smell of this wine to Shakespeare, without making comparisons to any other smells?” I said, “Really? I’m off-duty. I don’t want to be creative.” He waited; his face said, What a fun little game! So I said something about a cold, gritty gravestone choked by the acidity of the surrounding dirt. I really wanted to say, “I smell a date that's about to end.”

One good thing, he told me I don’t need Botox or Restylane. Yet.

Anyway, I went home and rattled off all his achievements to my mother. She said, “If he’s so great, how come no one has scooped him up yet?” I had to laugh, but then I thought, What if people say that about me? No one’s scooping me up, either!

He asked me out again but I just said the timing wasn’t right.

Nakakatuwa kapag kasalan o binyagan.Ninong at Ninang, madalas kinukuha, ung "Sikat,Politicians (Sikat!) , OFW (me dolyares e!)...at the end of the day, ni isang Ninong & Ninang walang nakaalala sa Inaanak nila. WHy? E hindi mo naman kc personal na kakilala sukat kunin mo Ninong-NInang ng anak mo o sa Kasal mo! Sa dame ng inaanak nila d ka na nila matatandaan! Kapag nagbless ka magpapakilala ka pa ng buong angkan mo at ninuno bago ka makilala.Kapag minamalas ka pa, naubos na paliwanag mo d ka pa rin nakikilala! hahaha! Minsan, kaibigan nung kamag-anak , kumpare nung ganito ganyan, e bakit ba kasi hindi hayaang yung ikakasal ang mamili ng Ninong at Ninang nila na sa palagay nila e makakatulong at magiging magulang nila na maaring hingan ng payo kapag may problema. O kaya naman kukuha ng isang tambak na Ninong at Ninang para makabawi sa gastusin sa binyagan sa bonggang hotel o restaurant , Negosyo ba anak nyo? Ano yan damit na binibenta tapos may tawaran, magagalit kapag maliit ibinigay ng Ninong at Ninang, pero mostly kukunin mapepera na naman! hahahah!

Hindi lang yung kasikatan at pera ang basehan para kunin mong sponsor yung tao. Natawa ako ng minsan, tumawag ang Nanay Baby ko, kinukuhang Ninong daw ang anak ko si Noah w/c is 7years old lang that time. Una kong reaction, normal ba yang kumukuhang sponsor sa anak ko? Pakisabe nalang po Nay hindi ko pinapayagan ang anak ko maging NINONG sa edad nyang yan hanggat hindi nya nauunawaan ang ibig sabihin ng NINON o pangalawang magulang sa magiging inaanak nya. Para sa akin sagrado ang pagiging Ninong at Ninang, sabe ko sa Nanay para hindi nakakahiya sa kumukuha, kung gugustuhin nila ako na lang kamo ang kuning Ninang ng bata, dahil kalokohang malaki ang kunin mong Ninong e walang muwang sa takbo ng buhay at inosente din na katulad ng inaanak. I mean, tatayo kang pangalawang magulang, ano ang pwede mong ituro sa inaanak mo, na ikabubuti nya, kung ikaw mismo ay walang nauunawaaan sa buhay.

Nung ikinasal ako may mga Ninong at Ninang kami na hindi namin gaano kilala sadya, O maybe ako hindi ko masyado kilala, as a bride & groom normally hati ang pagpili ng Ninong at Ninang, buti nalang yung mga taga Sta. Brigida na Ninong at Ninang namin ay naging masugid na pangalawang magulang namin. Nakakahiya nga lamang minsan at hindi ko matandaan ang pangalan! (buti nalang d pa uso ang internet sa mga Ninang/Ninong!) hahaha! Meron din naman na sadyang nagprinsintang Ninong at Ninang namin, and I must say na naging karamay ko sila noong panahon na kailangan ko ng kaagapay na magulang and even until now, nandyan pa rin sila para sa anak namin bilang mga Lolo at Lola. Natural meron din namang, "meron" , na hindi ko alam kung ipagmamalaki ko o hindi, pero siguro mas mainam na hindi! Yung respeto ko nalang siguro bilang inaanak nila, kahit may kapalpakan nga daw e huwag na sa akin magmula ang pagsigaw sa publiko! May tamang paraan, tamang pagkakataon at tamang lugar para pag-usapan kung anuman ang mga bagay-bagay na dapat nilang malaman.

Binyag ng anak ko, nakakatuwang malungkot. Masaya dahil binyag nya at magiging ganap na syang kristyano, malungkot dahil magkahiwalay na ang mga magulang nya that time yet we still manage to be there for him. I like the selections of my Noah's Ninong & Ninang. Well, of course may mga special request as usual. But most of them, totoong KAIBIGAN KO, like Ninang Janai at Ninong Raffy ni Noah, mga kaklase ko pa nung grade school. Ninong Raffy nya kada uwi from Batangas hindi pwedeng hindi nya dadalawin si Noah at lalaruin gang makatulog na sa kanya sad lang at maagang sumama kay Lord ang Ninong Raffy nya. Ang Ninang Janai naman kahit lokaret daw sa labas, kapag kailangan ko ng kaibigang makikinig, nanjan lage yan matyagang makinigg at magpayo. (matino naman ang payo) Kaya love ko yan si Mareng Janai! hahaha! Pareng Darwin syempre fav Ninong ni Noah ngayon dahil sya ang nasa Del Mundo lagi, at nakikita . Ay naku, e wala na nga palang Ninong halos si Noah, at nakay Lord na lahat, ay ano ba naman yun!Kaya ang pareng Dharz nalang nga talaga ang fav, ahahhaha! Ang Ninong Darwin naman nya, kinuha kong personal na maging Ninong dahil kaibigan sya ng Kuya George ko at kilala kong mabuting tao, laking simbahan, at higit sa lahat a good provider ng pamilya nila, kaya alam ko kapag may kailangan si Noah na tatakbuhang pangalawang magulang, nanjan ang Ninong nya. I'm really thankful for that kay Pareng Dharz dahil naalalayan nya si Noah ng pangaral kahit papaano lalo na at wala kami sa tabi nya. Ninong Kirby nya nasa Cavite naman, huwag sana turuan mambabae si Noah! At ang aking Mahal na Midwife syempre si Mareng Mel, at si Kuya Toto na lagi din kinukuha si Noah sa bahay para alagaan at hanggang ngayon ang Ninang Mel nya ang tinatakbuhan kapag may sakit si Noah, lalo na noong nasa medicare na nagkasakit si Noah. Si Ate Mercy family friend namin, asawa ni Kuya Lauro, na lasenggo! hahaha! Pero wag nyo smolin si Kuya Lauro , malaki respeto nyan sa pamilya namin, at si Ate Merz na Mahal na mahal ko syempre, loyalista yan e.hahaha! At kahit katayin mo yan hindi yan babaliktad sa pamilya ko, ipagtatanggol at ipagtatanggol nya ako, ganyan ako kamahal ni Ate Merz , pag-iyak ko iyak din sya, bantay sya gang nanganak ako nasa tabi ko sya, kapag may hapon dinadalaw nya si Noah para icheck at hihilutin baka may bali. Nakakatuwa isipin, na hindi pera ang kelangan mo para kunin ang isang tao, dahil ang pera pwede mo pagtrabahuhan yan, pero ung totoong pagmamahal at pagmamalasakit hindi mo kayang bayaran ng pera yan! Karamihan naman sa Ninong ni Noah, kaibigan talaga ng pamilya namin at even Mama Gladz nya w/c is obviously Auntie nya, or ang Nanay Inday (Ate Irene) eldest sister ng Daddy Jojo nya, Ate Vanie cousin naman namin. Si Ninang Chie Villar naman parang kapamilya na din namin dahil ang Tatay naman nya ay bestfriend ng parents ko, at hanggang ngayon nanjan sila nakaalalay kay Noah at kay Nanay Baby!
Kalamangan sa resulta ng Ninong at Ninang ni Noah at sa kasal namin mas lamang naman ang maganda kesa palpak. Dahil karamihan sa Ninong at Ninang namin nanjan palagi para patuloy kaming gabayan at alalayan. Even yung hindi namin masyadong kilalang Ninong at Ninang nung una, nagulat pa ako ng burol ng Papa ko, nagsidatingan sila para damayan ako. Kaya yung Sta. Brigida parang extension ng bahay namin, 2nd home kung tawagin ko dahil nung nandun kami sa bahay ni Ate Irene, naging malapit din ako sa kanila, very friendly at matulungin din naman kc ang mga taga duon. Biruin mo ng dinugo ako, isang jeep sila sumugod sa Del Mundo sa pag-aalala saken! hahaha! Ganyan ako kamahal ng Taga Sta. Brigida, makapagpaampon kaya sa kanila? ahahha!
Kaya kayo kapag kukuha kayo ng Ninong at Ninang, make sure na kakilala nyo talaga at sigurado kayo na magiging pangalawang magulang sila sa anak ninyo. Ang dame ko na din inaanak, and to be honest nakakalungkot na hindi mo magampanan yung responsibilidad sa kanila bilang pangalawang magulang. Una malayo ako sa kanila, yung iba nawalan ng communication saken, but as much as I can yung alam kong pwede ko mareach out , I want to try to be a there for them at least once in a while. Bilang mga pangalawang magulang naman , sana magampanan din natin kahit papaano ang obligasyon sa kanila, hindi sa regalo, hindi sa pera, yung moral at pagmamahal, pagmamalasakit ang mahalaga! Hindi porket politician kelangan kunin nyo ng Ninong o Ninang, o porket nasa abroad dapat yun dahil mapera. Mas masarap yung alam mong nanjan sila dahil nagmamalasakit silang totoo at alam mong alalayan ka nila sa tamang daan.

MABALACAT, Pampanga, Philippines—The head of a call center agent murdered in a motel room in Angeles City last week was found beside a creek in Sta. Inez village here on Saturday.

Senior Superintendent Danilo Bautista, Angeles police director, said the head of Katrina Gantan, 22, who worked at the Sutherland Global Services Philippines inside the Clark Freeport, was found by residents inside a sack left under the Morales Bridge.

Bautista said residents noticed the stench coming from the sack teeming with flies at a grassy portion of the bank of the Sapang Balen creek at 11:20 a.m. When they opened the sack, they were shocked to see a woman's head inside.

On October 4, policemen arrested Adonis Reyes, 30, Gantan's boyfriend and co-worker for his alleged involvement in the murder. Employees of Miyabe Court in Angeles said Reyes matched the description of Gantan's companion when they checked into the motel on the night of October 1. Gantan was found headless and naked inside a toilet in the motel the following day.

Gantan's parents said the artist's sketch provided by the police resembled Reyes' features. Reyes, however, denied involvement in Gantan's murder.

- According to the Interior Ministerial Announcements dated 1 October B.E. 2545 (2002), 20 December B.E. 2545 (2002), 18 October B.E. 2547 (2004) and 6 May B.E. 2548 (2005), passport holders from 41 countries and 1 special administrative region - Hong Kong SAR - are not required to obtain a visa when entering Thailand for tourism purposes and will be permitted to stay in the Kingdom for a period of not exceeding 30 days on each visit. Caregiver caught on cam abusing Filipino lola By Don Tagala

JERSEY CITY, NJ – A shocking video of a caregiver caught on camera physically assaulting a 91-year-old Filipino woman in her home in Jersey City, New Jersey made headlines when it was posted online.

Catalina Obaldo was slapped, smacked in the head, pushed and thrown around like a ragdoll. Food was forced into her mouth and her hair pulled by her caregiver, Carmen Pereira.

Pereira, of Loving Care Agency, had looked after Obaldo for 11 years.

The defenseless woman is suffering from various health ailments, including Alzheimer’s disease.

Local news reports say that Obaldo’s family set up a webcam to check on their Lola at any given time, but when suspicious bruises appeared on her, they started recording it.

The family could not believe what the webcam captured.

In a YouTube video, Obaldo’s daughter Bernardina Samin said, “I’m furious! It’s heartbreaking to see your own mother abused by a person whom you trusted for so many years.”

Hamas has strongly denied Internet rumors and blog reports claiming the Palestinian Islamic group last week held a mass ceremony at which little girls were married off.

A video circulating on the Internet, titled "Hamas shocking mass wedding for 450 little girls," purports to show children who appear to be about 8 to 10 years old being married off in a mass Hamas ceremony last week. Little girls in what appear to be wedding dresses are filmed arriving in cars and then walking down an aisle with the grooms.

The video and related pictures generated scores of blog postings making similar claims that Hamas was marrying off hundreds of little girls.

WND received a large volume of e-mail asking the news organization to investigate.

Hamas indeed held a mass ceremony last Thursday in which nearly a thousand Palestinians celebrated marriage. Many of the families involved said they could not afford their own wedding party. Each groom received a present of about $500 from Hamas, which said its workers had also contributed 5 percent of their monthly salaries to add to the wedding gift.

Ahmed Jarbour, the Hamas official in Gaza responsible for social activity, told WND the youngest girl to marry at the ceremony was 16 years old. He said most brides were above the age of 18.

Jarbour, like two other top officials contacted by WND, was offended by the suggestion Hamas would marry off little girls.

He explained the minors seen in the video were family of the bride or groom. He said it was tradition for little girls to dress in gowns similar to the bride. He said the little girls walking down the aisle with the grooms are family members of either the bride or groom.

A WND review of the video found some of the little girls, speaking in Arabic, state they are at the wedding of a family member. The girls interviewed do not say anything about themselves getting married.

Multiple calls to Palestinians who participated in the wedding affirmed the little girls are not themselves the brides.

Hamas, meanwhile, hailed the wedding ceremony as a victory.

"We are saying to the world and to America that you cannot deny us joy and happiness," Mahmoud al-Zahar, Hamas' chief in Gaza, told the grooms at the event.

In a series of articles Ducati News Today will explore the new models in detail. Today is the turn of the Ducati Superbike range.

Ducati unveiled a new Corse logo which brings the racing emblem in line with the revised company logo that is now in existence as well as detailing the Superbike range for 2010. The highights are the 848 Dark and two special edition 1198′s that feature larger, aluminum tanks and special Corse graphics.

For 2010, the 848 gets the same latest, bright, easy-to-read instrumentation as the 1198, aluminum cam belt pulley and 30mm mirror extension kit as well as a new urban-style Dark colour scheme. The matte black tank and bodywork with racing black frame and black wheels now lines up alongside the original pearl white with racing grey frame and black wheels and traditional Ducati red with red frame and black wheels to complete the three colors.

The base model 1198 continues mechanically unchanged in red or pearl white, whilst the S model is also unchanged and is available in red, black or pearl white (all with a red frame). In addition Ducati announced a new 1198S Corse Special Edition and a 1198R Corse Special Edition. The Troy Bayliss Limited edition 1098R has been discontinued.

DUCATI 1198 S Corse Special Edition

The 1198 S Corse Special Edition sports a bold red, white and black colour scheme to mark the historic introduction of a new Ducati Corse logo and celebrate the winning of both the World Superbike and Superstock Manufacturers’ titles. The Special Edition ‘S’ features a factory team-style aluminium fuel tank and race kit as well as world-beating Ducati Traction Control.

At 168kg (370.3lb) (dry weight) the Special Edition model weighs in at 1kg (2.2lb) less than the 1198 S thanks to the beautifully made lightweight fuel tank, which also boosts the bike’s fuel capacity by 2.5 litres (0.66 US gal) to 18 litres (4.75 US gal). The tank is formed in 2mm thick aluminium, brush finished and clear-coated to maintain a factory race tank feel and proudly displays the new Ducati Corse logo on top.

The new model will be supplied with a race kit consisting of a slip-on carbon fibre muffler kit by Termignoni including a dedicated ECU and a Ducati Performance rear paddock stand.

DUCATI 1198 R Corse Special Edition

Since the entire larger engine Superbike range now have 1198cc engines the name of the top of the line model is now 1198R. Compared to the 1098 R, the 1198 R Corse Special Edition is 1kg (2.2lb) lighter thanks to the new factory team-style fuel tank, which also increases fuel capacity by 2.5 litres (0.66 US gal) to 18 litres (4.75 US gal). Formed in 2mm thick aluminium, the tank is brush finished, clear-coated and topped off with the new Ducati Corse logo to maintain a factory race tank feel.

The 1198 R Corse comes in the red, white and black Corse Special Edition livery bodywork with the new aluminium fuel tank clear-coated for all to see. The Trellis frame is also in red with the front and rear 7-spoke Marchesini wheels finished in black. The front fender and side panels are left in a contrasting natural carbon fibre finish while the belly-pan is painted, but reveals its carbon fibre material inside the aerodynamic recess for the side-stand. A subtle ’1198 R Corse Special Edition’ graphic on the tail fairing leaves no doubt as to what this magnificent bike is.

This top-of-the-range model is supplied with a race kit that includes a full racing exhaust system with 102dB carbon fibre mufflers by Termignoni and dedicated ECU which raises power output to approximately 186hp (intended strictly for track use only). Also in the kit is a unique Ducati Corse branded bike cover designed by Aldo Drudi and rear paddock stand as well as an official cased plaque of authentication that confirms the collectable value of this exclusive motorcycle.

Pricing in the USA is $16,495 for the 1198 and $21,795 for the 1198S. Pricing for the 1198S Corse SE and 1198R Corse SE is not yet available..
